Exchange Lay Bet

Record a standalone exchange lay bet

Scenario

Say you placed a lay bet at an exchange.

You want Tracker to record the lay stake, lay odds, commission, and outcome.

Add the bet

Create a new entry and add one bet.

Set:

Stake

Enter the lay stake, not the liability.

Bookmaker

Select the exchange.

Bet Direction

Use Lay.

Win Fee

Enter the exchange commission percentage.

Add the leg

Link the runner if possible.

Enter the exchange lay odds as the leg odds.

Check cost and return

Use Bet Stats before saving.

For most lay bets, the cash cost is the liability. If Tracker's calculated liability does not match the exchange ticket, use Override Cost and enter the actual cash cost.

Common mistakes

  • Entering liability as stake.
  • Forgetting commission.
  • Recording the lay as Back.
  • Overriding return before the bet has settled.
