Bonus Bet on Win

Use Stallion for a win-back racing promotion

Scenario

Say you have a promotion where a winning runner pays the normal cash winnings and also awards a bonus bet worth some or all of your stake.

You want Stallion to estimate whether the win-back offer is worth taking once the hedge and fair odds are included.

Set up the race

Open the race and choose:

Mode
Bonus Bet on Win

Use BBW because the promotion awards an extra bonus bet if the runner wins.

Stake

Enter the amount you will stake with the bookmaker.

Returns

Enter the percentage of stake awarded as the bonus bet.

Add the bookmaker offering the promotion as an active bookmaker.

Pick a candidate

Start with EV. If the EV is not good enough, move on.

If the candidate is worth checking, confirm:

  • the bookmaker is eligible for the promotion
  • the runner is in the correct race
  • the back price still exists
  • the lay price and liquidity are still available
  • the lay liability is acceptable

Bonus Bet on Win promos can be sensitive to the runner's fair win odds, because the bonus bet is only added in the win scenario. Check the EV detail if the confidence is low.

Place, save, and track

Once the live prices match the candidate closely enough:

  1. Place the bookmaker bet.
  2. Place the exchange lay bet.
  3. Save the play with .
  4. Update the saved play if the odds or lay stake changed.
  5. Add it from Scratchpad to Tracker once the saved details match what you placed.

Common mistakes

  • Using Bonus Bet on Place for a win-back offer.
  • Entering the bonus percentage incorrectly.
  • Taking a candidate with weak fair-odds confidence without checking the detail.
  • Ignoring exchange liability.
  • Saving stale prices after the market moves.
