Standard +EV Middle

Use Middles for a normal positive-EV middle

Scenario

Say you want a normal middle with enough edge, enough fair-odds support, and a miss cost you are willing to accept.

You are not trying to guarantee profit. You are paying a small downside for a chance at a much larger hit return.

Set up the filters

Open filters with Filters and use a conservative setup:

Sort By
EV

Start with EV when you want the strongest expected-value candidates first.

Expected Value

Use a minimum EV that is worth your time. The default is 3%.

Min Count

Keep enough source prices behind each fair line. The default is 4.

Show arbs

Leave this on unless you specifically want standard middles only.

Use bookmaker, league, market, and time filters if you only want plays you can place quickly.

Pick a candidate

Start with EV, then check SR and Hit.

If the candidate is worth checking, confirm:

  • both offered odds still exist
  • the event, market, selections, and lines are correct
  • both fair odds and source counts look credible
  • the Kelly stake and leg stakes are acceptable
  • both bookmaker accounts are suitable for the play

Use if you want the bet details panel before acting.

Place, save, and track

Once both live prices match the candidate:

  1. Place both bookmaker bets.
  2. Save the play with if the displayed candidate still matches what you placed.
  3. Enter the stake you placed on each leg.
  4. Add it from Scratchpad to Tracker.

Common mistakes

  • Only checking the top EV number.
  • Ignoring a large negative SR.
  • Missing that one leg has weak fair-odds support.
  • Placing one leg after the other leg has moved.
  • Saving stale odds after either price changes.
