Key Bookmaker Middle

Use Middles when one bookmaker must be involved

Scenario

Say one bookmaker account is the priority.

You want Middles to find plays where that bookmaker is involved, while still allowing the other leg to come from whichever bookmaker creates the best middle.

Set up the filters

Open filters with Filters and go to Bookmakers.

Key Bookmakers

Select the account that must appear on at least one leg.

Exclude Bookmakers

Remove books you cannot or do not want to use.

Then tighten the rest of the setup if needed:

  • use leagues and markets you are comfortable betting
  • keep a minimum EV threshold
  • set a minimum SR if miss cost matters
  • keep a sensible source count
  • use a time window where you can place both legs cleanly

Pick a candidate

Start by confirming the key bookmaker is actually part of the play.

Then check whether the other leg is usable. A great-looking middle is not useful if the second bookmaker is unavailable, limited, or a poor fit for the account.

If the key account is sensitive, a smaller edge in a normal-looking market may be better than a strange line with a higher Hit return.

Place, save, and track

Once both bookmaker prices are available:

  1. Place the key bookmaker leg and the opposing leg.
  2. Save the play with if the displayed candidate still matches what you placed.
  3. Enter both actual stakes.
  4. Add it from Scratchpad to Tracker.

Common mistakes

  • Using Bookmakers when Key Bookmakers is the better filter.
  • Excluding the same bookmaker you are trying to require.
  • Taking a play that does not fit the key account just because EV is high.
  • Forgetting that the non-key leg still needs to be placeable.
  • Not clearing bookmaker filters when switching workflows.
