Bonus Bet Dutching

Convert a bonus bet with back-only dutching

Scenario

Say you have a bonus bet at Sportsbet and want to convert it without using a lay bet.

Instead of backing one outcome and laying it on an exchange, you back the relevant outcomes in the market. One leg uses the bonus bet. The other legs cover the remaining outcomes.

Set the filters

Open Filters and set:

Bookmakers
Exclude exchanges

Exclude exchanges for this back-only example. Radar then builds combinations from sportsbook back bets.

Sort By
SNR

SNR ranks bets around the bonus bet conversion result.

Key Bookmaker
Sportsbet

Set the bonus bet bookmaker as the key bookmaker so Radar knows which leg is meant to carry the bonus stake.

If you include exchanges, Radar can use both their back and lay prices. Check every leg before choosing a back-only combination.

Pick a bet

Start with the SNR return. If the number is not good enough, move on.

If the bet is worth checking, confirm:

  • one leg uses the bonus bet bookmaker
  • every other leg is at a bookmaker or exchange you can use
  • the market has enough time left to place all legs
  • the setup does not require stake sizes you are uncomfortable placing at those books

Dutching setups can have more moving parts than exchange setups. If one price moves before you finish placing the legs, the return shown in Radar no longer applies.

Use Bet Stats

Open for the bet.

Use the dutching calculator to work out:

  • which leg should be treated as SNR
  • how much to place on each leg
  • whether rounded stakes still leave a useful return

In this example, the bonus bet leg is the SNR leg. The covering legs are normal cash stakes.

Save, place, and track

Once the live prices still match the candidate closely enough:

  1. Save the play with , or be ready to save it immediately after placing.
  2. In the save popover, turn on SNR for the bonus bet leg.
  3. Place the bonus bet leg.
  4. Place the covering legs.
  5. Update the saved play if the placed odds or stakes changed.
  6. Add it from Scratchpad to Tracker once the saved details match what you placed.

Check the SNR leg

The most common dutching mistake is marking the wrong leg as SNR. The SNR toggle should be on the leg where you are using the bonus bet.

Common mistakes

  • Forgetting to set the bonus bet bookmaker as a key bookmaker.
  • Marking the wrong leg as SNR.
  • Assuming the displayed return survives rounded stakes.
  • Taking too long to place each leg.
  • Forgetting that exchanges can appear in dutching setups unless you exclude them.
